Minds that are not always empty

From Anarkali Dress to Skirt

I used to buy ‘XS’ size dresses 8 years back. And spent crazy lot of money on them too (Not that I am spending any less on dresses now). Although at the time I had no complaints with the size. Thing is I did not get a chance to wear these dresses enough and now I outgrew them. I am not a person who will let go off things without full “paisa vasooling” them.

I looked at this particular dress every single day trying to figure out what can I do with it so I can wear it again. I almost made the hard decision of handing this off to my maid. Good thing I held off for a year when this miraculously useful thought occurred to me. When such things happen, I will be like a person possessed!

I dedicated one whole day to detach the top half of the dress and made it into a skirt – all with hand stitch. Even after going through multiple washes, the skirt is not showing any signs of wear – where the stitches are concerned.

Feeling extremely proud to have re-cycled my dress and being able to wear it again!
