Fuller Minds

Minds that are not always empty

Under Appreciated?

It is one thing to be under appreciated by your boss. You would still try to give your best year after year thinking one day your management will realize, that you are an asset to the organization. Well, we all know how that turns out to be, right? At the end of which, we will throw in the towel and look for other opportunities. As for your organization, you are always a resource that can be easily replaced.

How about your personal life? How does it feel like to be under appreciated by your own kin? Especially in times like these, when we have limited domestic help, having to contribute in household chores and also manage work from home. We are contributing in the household activities we would otherwise not even be thinking of doing, if not for the circumstances. But instead of being appreciative of the efforts we are putting in, it is always that one thing we forget to do. Because of which, there is almost always going to be a mini war at home!

In the beginning of this lockdown at least, all of us would have made peace with the people we are living with, saying that this is the need of the hour. We need to be supportive of each other and not disturb our mental harmony for such trivial things. Does it work? Not really. But what choice do we have? It is not a job we can quit and leave.

Well, I for one am more than ready to break out of this new normal and cannot wait to get back to the old normal. Only problem? These are still difficult times and demand desperate measures. Meaning: staying home until unforeseeable future!
